By My Side

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Sep 23, 2008

The smoke slips by my lips
Taste the embers on my tongue
Tastes like metal, tastes so sweet
As it fills up my lungs

The street where I lay dying
Is a cold and winding one
The stars the flicker overhead
Dream of being someone's sun

What happened to the song
That was playing in the car
Trying to take deeper breathes
I taste and smell hot tar

The song was something sad
But my ears loved that sound
It replayed over in my head
Which is now bleeding on the ground

The daggers stab inside my legs
I wonder what they are
What surrounds my bleeding body
Is my twisted burning car

My wind shield scattered around me
They reflect the fire light
They pierce the silent darkness
That is the graceful night

I do not know what's wrong with me
I lay here dying on the street
I hum a tune inside my mouth
But I can't tap my feet

Poetic, is it not?
The shards are little flames by my side
They guide me through the moonlight
For this is the day I died

Wow...way to write about my nightmare...

^^ that'd sort of be a sarcastic, clever little way to die. i sort of like it.
