I feel as you do

by thehangman   Sep 24, 2008

One would think if they looked
That I don't feel that pain

My face seems untouched
My soul not grieving

And what cannot be seen cannot be believed

So in this way
You think I don't know
What you feel as you pass

You may think that through silence
You hide what you feel
That no one will notice

But one could not know
That I feel as another feels
Their sorrow is like mine
Their joy makes me glad

I wallow in happiness
Just as I sink in despair

Perhaps you will continue
In silence, in hiding

Only know that
Though you may suffer
You do not suffer alone
