True Love

by Nicholas   Sep 24, 2008

I've probably written a thousand poems
To the various girls that I have met.
All about erotic feelings, and lust
and of them taking away my breath
I've sworn my love and cursed it
I've given my heart again and again
Just to see my so-called "True Love"
In the arms of another man.
I've dashed the hearts of some
And I've had mine trampled in return
I've bawled and screamed sometimes
I've felt that broken-heart burn
I've written diddies, songs and odes
I've even cried over some of them
But, in comparison to how I feel now
Well, they're actually pretty dim
I can't say that I'll never do wrong
That's a promise that I can't keep
But I must admit I've never
Felt a love quite this deep
So I will swear to do my very best
To always love, respect, and honor you
For that's all that is expected
In a love that is this true.
