About A Girl.

by Nymphetamine   Sep 24, 2008

Splinters of wood
fly and travel through
tension filled air
Rain droplets of dark blood
fall onto white flawless skin
and that too easily tears
Soft robotic lullaby
twinkles mournfully
as a faceless ballerina twirls
Curled up legs against
the steady breathing beneath her chest
she dreams of normal little girls
Her only and best friend
crawls gracefully to her
on spindly legs of eight
Mindless of preconceived stereotypes
this contact between them
seems to desecrate
Moss and dew falls on her tongue
she reaches for a ragged doll
made of stitch and lace
And curls into a fetal ball
alone in her darkened room
from where no one will find a trace

Yeah I agree I could picture a very dark place while reading this.

Brilliant poem, the imagery was so haunting and vivid I felt as though I were there with this waif child, unique and clear!
