Series of Scars - 2

by TheBarefootedCowgirl   Sep 25, 2008

These scars on my wrist
tell stories you'll never know
reflecting scars on my heart
from maybe not so long ago

was that you who caused some?
or maybe it was him?
or ever possibly her...
the chances of that aren't slim

the open wounded hurt is gone
these ugly, massive scars remain
but something will never be gone
the memories that hold the pain

so hold onto the knife
and light up the match
disfigure my skin
relief has come, at last.

I'm afraid I cannot vote on this one; we both know where real relief lies, and it is not with a knife blade.
