I never knew that fairy tales could come true
Thought it was just a silly story
Princes never rod in on a white horse
The princess would have to set herself free
A kiss won't wake you up, or bring you back
There's no magic or a godmother who's a fairy
I thought they were all just make believe

Until the day I found my prince
He didn't ride in on a steed, he walked
I thought I had to save myself till the day we talked
I wasn't truly asleep, but the real me was falling away
Then you kissed me and I was alive again
I know what happiness is now, because of you

This may be no Cinderella love story
You aren't a prince, and I'm not a princess
But I will do my best to make this a happily ever after
