Stars And Moon

by StandStill   Sep 25, 2008

Today is just a day,
aren't they all?
A day for the sun to rise
so that it may fall.

As Autumn comes,
the trees, they die.
Fluttering leaves,
like wings of butterflies.

But darling, my dear,
today is not the same.
We're still breathing air,
but isn't that the game?

Let's stay alive,
just so we can see.
Another day like this,
one built for you and me.

But darling, my dear,
what you fail to understand
is that when the sun falls,
the stars come to stand.

If you don't know it,
and I'm sure that you do.
The stars rise for me,
and they rise for you.

Close your eyes, my darling, my dear,
you will see tomorrow in the east.
We can make it through today,i know,
if we can just take a breath, one at least.

I don't know how to prove that I love you,
I tried talking to the stars last night.
They're jealous, my dear one, they're jealous!
For never can they shine quite so bright.

The sun is rising ever higher,
we'll be home someday, someday soon.
Just hold your breath and make me a wish,
make a wish on the stars and the moon.

Hmmm this is not one of my favorites from you, the first 6 stanzas were very good, and i think you might have been a good idea to end the piece there or to come to a closing there. I didn't like how the stanzas changed lengths and the rhyming pattern was thrown off, the last three stanzas were very hard to get into so you might think of rereading this piece and reconstucting it as well. i would give this piece a 3/5 but i will rate so your ranking does not go down
