All At Once

by Melissa   Sep 25, 2008

All at once
love steps lightly in
and flaunts her debonairness
with such epical poise

yet no one notices

not him
or the woman who's been blindsided
by destiny
and it's glum

finality

not even the optimists
behold lungs capable
of breathing in stardust
as fine as vehemence

not until love steps lightly
away from our hearts
do we hear her echo
...............echo
.......echo

Gorgeous poem Melissa - especially the image of the echoing footsteps of love stepping away.
