The Dark Side Of The Moon

by Mark Spencer   Sep 25, 2008

I have made my share of choices,
And there's few that I regret.
But the day I watched you walk away,
Is a day I can't forget.

'Cause every time I think about
The fool I used to be,
I remember all the reasons
Why you stopped loving me.

And I didn't know what I had
Until you were gone.
I can't drink away the darkness,
When I know there is no dawn!

I'm stranded on the dark side of the moon
A million miles from you,
Swallowed by a loneliness
That time cannot undo.
The only thing that's left of me,
Is this old country tune.
A song about a man who took a wrong turn,
To the dark side of the moon.

You left and took our little girl,
And you flew off to St. Paul.
Left me waiting here in Arkansas,
Hoping someday you would call.

But that's never gonna happen
You're someone else's wife.
He gave you what I couldn't give,
A long and happy life.

So I sit in the smoky haze
Of this run down bar,
Drinking away the memories
As I strum this old guitar!

I'm stranded on the dark side of the moon
A million miles from you,
Swallowed by a loneliness
That time cannot undo.
The only thing that's left of me,
Is this old country tune.
A song about a man who took a wrong turn,
To the dark side of the moon.

The only thing that's left of me,
Is this old country tune.
A song about a man who took a wrong turn,
To the dark side of the moon.
