Blue Bird

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Sep 26, 2008

Look at this mess I've made
It's written all across my face
I see tear drops, but they're letters
In a poem, on a page

This is how it begins
But it's not how it ends
Making god damned certain
It won't happen again!

"The chiming from the widow sill
It's a bird singing to the breeze
Fly to her, my bright blue bird
Send her a song from me"

I think of what that means to me
That's how tears roll down my face
The poem is crumpled under my hands
And disappears without a trace

See the only thing I know how to do now
Is to keep on keeping on
Say I'm sorry till you believe it
My love, you did nothing wrong

So I sent a blue bird your way
3 years does not feel long
I'll let out my little bluebird
And whisper you that song

^^ You know that song that's like, little blue bird on my shoulder da da da da da? ((or maybe i made that up too. XD)) that's what this made me think of. it's sweet and reminds me of spring, honestly. which works, seeing as that's my favourite time of year. <3 this poem just kind of feels filled up with life and love and hope...love it.
