Words

by Gentle Storm   Sep 26, 2008

I bleed gratitude in gushes, for the great I Am,
From the wound inflicted, in shaping the poet I am.
Filled my soul with emotion, and a jumble in my head,
Flowing out smooth and sweet, that it could raise the dead.

To use them well I swear, to make the world aware,
Of topics here and there, and of others to be ware.
Of joy and pain, happiness and despair,
Speak out and loud, mend the disrepair.

To reach out to the masses, with or without percussion,
Always will I endeavour, to bring forth repercussion.
Words I ooze, give life to each one,
The task here is, inspire and teach one.

Twisting and turning them around, around them turning and twisting,
I hide, burning feelings behind, and, behind feelings burning, hide I.
I heard, explore, of there existing,
Existing thereof, explore, I heard.

Grown to believe in the power of a word,
To use it to do good, not expecting an award.
This my solemn vow, always strive to win the race,
Forever words be my sword, until I fall from grace.

This is excellent! One of my favorite pieces I've read today. Language is so mysterious, and powerful, and you used her mightily. I loved the structure and cadence of this (: Simply put -- a great write. Keep it coming.
