Seashell

by StandStill   Sep 28, 2008

Sing me a song through a seashell
of the world in a glass bottle rocking on.
Hum me the tune of the ocean,
and we'll watch as o'er the waves comes the dawn.

Send me a kiss through a hermit crab's claw,
I can hear your voice whistle in the wind.
You're telling me things, as you lovingly sing,
of places where dreams slowly bend.

Send me embrace through the summer,
I can feel your warm arms wrapped 'round my lungs.
And I'll scream out a song, the whole memory gone,
and we'll say that together we have sung.

Footprints walk up along a beach,
a beach where i've never been.
But i've heard it's quite lovely, and I can't wait to see,
as we walk as a we, just us friends.

Hum me a tune through a seashell
I promise to hold it close to my ear.
I can swear to you, darling, that I'll walk on the waves
if only it keeps you close here.

Someday seems so far ahead;
seashell's song can only play so loud,
sit with me, dear one, and watch as the waves
break with a loud crashing sound.

Seashells seem like yesterday,
but tomorrow is simply another sweet day...
someday seems so far away.
Why are we stuck in today?
