New Surroundings

by Richard S   Sep 29, 2008

Spring came to us with fresh blooms this year.
Our new surroundings pulled feelings up from deep roots.
Tree buds foretold the opening of hearts and minds.
April showers anointed us and cleansed our spirit.

In summer the length of day matched our evening strolls.
Hot nights called for hotter dips in limpid pools.
Back deck talk made fireflies blush,
And the stars brightness seemed pale compared to your eyes.

Our surroundings were still new as the leaves began to turn.
There were familiar yet new snuggles before our hearth.
The blossoms that carried us through the summer, started to drop.
But the happiness we harvested in our new surroundings will feed our soul.

Soon our new surroundings will be covered with snow.
We may have to bundle up and shovel the walk.
But we can still open the curtains and embrace the morning sun.
All seasons shall be welcome here, in our new surroundings.

Yeah we should cherish every season although certain play an important role in our mental wellbeing. In summer as you'd mention the days are longer it's sunny, festive lots of happiness.
winter is also joyful in some ways, christmas.
    Great poem
