My Best Friend

My best friend is everything I've ever wanted in a friend,
She is there for me in times that I need her the most,
And I know in my heart that we'll be friends til' the very end,
Even though I live in Ohio and she lives on the Florida Coast.

The day that I first said a word to her was the very beginning;
The beginning of a new life both her and me,
First it started out with texting, before I knew it she started calling,
She is awesome, she makes me feel like I can be anything I want to be.

She's had a hard life, full of people who just leave her side,
People who cannot stand with her through everything she goes through, There were days when she felt so weak, she called me and cried,
Her favorite color is turquoise not blue.

October second is her birthday and I'm sad that I cannot be there;
There to celebrate with you- go out and party for just a few,
You having the best birthday of your life is my biggest prayer,
A night that is all about you, no rules and no curfew.
