He's seen the desert sands and walked through them all before,
he's put his life on the line to protect his homeland.
He's laid it all down in front of us,
and still thanked God for bringing him home.
He's fought for everything that's worth fighting for,
went into the line of duty when he didn't have to.
His nobility led him into the face of death,
where one suicide bomber tried to steal him from his family.
As the phone comes to let us know,
my cousin may not be coming home.
His face is scarred doing the right thing,
going out in the line of duty to be with his crew.
One of his friends come home in a casket,
while he lays in a hospital bed.
And I can do is say thank you,
God for bringing him home and please be with his friend's family.
A noble man who was fighting for his country,
and lost his life because of fighting for something he believed in.
What could be more noble,
then such a deed as that?
My cousin was injured in Iraq in Jan. of this year because of a suicide bomber. He lost one of his men to another suicide bomber and I'm thanking God for bringing home my cousin safely, but my heart is breaking for friend's family.
