Regurgitation

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 30, 2008

When we consume unhealthy substance can we hesitate?
To taste bitter truth is hard to digest, and we often regurgitate
Spitting out words like vomit, that are sometimes offending
Naturally returning disappointment when not pretending

It seems that criticism goes down better with a touch of salt
Or is it more wholesome to keep our emotions in a vault
What sweetheart finds consolation in being the defeater?
Does not the sour soul seek surrender which is sweeter?

What victory do honey bees possess greater than flowers
In the beauty of beholders the wise gazers are the bowers
Let us bow to creator, as we marvel at the wonder of creation
Praise to the words never spoken, or those in regurgitation?

"Let us bow to creator, as we marvel at the wonder of creation"
[Let us bow to THE creator, as we marvel at the wonder of creation.]
    - Some people might not like the change I made with this line. While I was reading the poem over and over everytime I felt that it needed to be changed. It bugged me a lot, lol.

You have a good poem here. Honest truth. Luckily you didn't regurgitate it, eh? Haha. When I seen the title of this poem I knew you'd come up with something clever to go along with it OTHER than actual imagery of regurgitating. Thank goodness you did, that would be disturbing.

The gist behind this poem, if i may add, is terrific!! Words, as conniving as it comes, although with truth tagging along, does have an effect which many a times gets "hard to digest" as you rightly mentioned. And words, that which should heal, infact redirects to the one uttered taking an ugly sight.....in short well done!!

The images are played out great and the message was well done. It told a story, and a the mean resided in every word. I gave it a 5 for the combination of style and flow great job Plot121...

Excellent poem! So true are your words that it reaches to the depths of our souls and uncovers the dust that silently collects in front of our eyes.

^^ Amazing start to the poem and in this stanza you have said so much and awakened the realisation of the harmful effects of a few words when cast without any consideration unto another soul. I like the imagery used here.

Simply the entire poem was amazing. This truly deserves nothing less than 100/5. :)
