Silent Portrait

by Beautiful Chaos   Oct 1, 2008

Time erased the love we held
Lonely came to grace
Forever never was enough
To hold us in this place

Empty home, frozen windows
Abandoned, lonesome dreams
Shattered by the selfishness
That filled our fighting screams

Passion fueled the flames that burned
Whether bad or good
We dove into such recklessness
We never understood

The crimes of youth we always fought
Knocking at our door
Pride destroying everything
Two hearts were searching for

Now there's nothing here to find
Except what's in my head
Soundless pictures of the love
We killed and left for dead

What a sad piece. Very heart touching.

Time erased the love we held
    Lonely came to grace
    Forever never was enough
To hold us in this place

How often do we rush into things we aren't ready for. Great imagery.

    Empty home, frozen windows
    Abandoned, lonesome dreams
    Shattered by the selfishness
    That filled our fighting screams

Loved the word choices in this stanza. Paints such a sad picture for the minds eye.

Now there's nothing here to find
    Except what's in my head
    Soundless pictures of the love
We killed and left for dead

Great ending. How many times do we think our love will last forever. Love is so blind to the things we don't want to see.
    Excellent job!
    Take Care
    Cindy
