Taylor's Lullaby

by StandStill   Oct 1, 2008

We're sitting on the rooftop,
the world is all alight.
We're where we said we'd be,
I promised you this night.

We're talking about sunny days,
watching the city as it sleeps.
Close your eyes, my darling,
for this is the stuff of dreams.

Can you hear the music?
The music and the sound?
The ocean's slowly moving,
moving all around.

It echoes in the city,
the lights all bouncing here or there.
Three dreams within a dream,
darling, stop and stare.

The ocean's slowly rocking,
hum thrum...you can hear it, yes?
It sounds just like a heartbeat,
a heartbeat in your chest.

Heartbeats match the tick tock,
the world's slowly creeping by.
It doesn't really matter,
for it's just you and me this night.

Close your eyes, my darling,
welcome to the dream.
We're just sitting on the rooftop,
singing of the sea.
