Memories Of The Heart

Memories Of The Heart

Little hand held my finger
Smile upon your sleeping face
Are you dreaming baby boy
Of riding rockets into space

Not wanting to miss a minute
Running wildly through your days
Mischievous twinkle in your eyes
Precious laughter as you played

Reading stories, singing songs
Stacking blocks and peek-a-boo
Picnics with your teddy bears
Treasured moments spent with you

Years they passed so quickly
Turned around, you were grown
Standing here now a man
With babies of your own

To my son John Jr.

I really loved this poem. It reminded me of my son as soon as I read it. I remember the day I had him and he's already three! It feels like yesterday but I remember the awe I felt when I watched him snuggle up to me. What a wonderful poem. Thank you for sharing this!

That was really beautiful. Excellent flow and the emotion behind it really came through wonderfully! Great job. (:
