Ballad: Jim's Lie

by Katie   Oct 1, 2008

I'll tell you a story
About a lie.
It was taken too far,
That poor guy...

He had no friends.
His name was Jim.
This dumb man
Just couldn't win.

He told a lie,
One fine day.
It shook the town,
And made them pray.

It wasn't fair
For Jim to do.
He told a lie,
And not the truth.

The lie was rotten,
Mean and cruel.
He talked of horror,
Things not cool.

He stated this:
"This town will burn!
The dead will walk,
With no return!"

Frantic now,
The town ran free,
Begging God,
"Listen to our plea!"

He laughed in silence,
And watched them scream.
They yelled out loud:
"This must be a dream!"

When they found out
What he had done,
They killed him off,
And ruined his fun.

So, if you lie,
Ignore your town.
Watch your back,
They'll hunt you down.
