Bolt From Blue (To the Sleepless)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Oct 2, 2008

To the sleepless
The loveless
The friendless
The ghosts
Walk down the hallways
But nobody knows
You do know some people
But they would walk away from you
They wouldn't think about it
A bolt from blue

To the sleepless
The heartless
The dying
The dead
The poems have music
In the words and my head
Forever they'll stay there
Till the day I die
Behind this fake smile
Behind these black eyes

To the sleepless
The readers
The writers
The pen
Poems get you so far
Till you wake up crying again
Another loose nightmare
But don't remember the dream
You still have the feeling
The tears and the scream

To the sleepless
The loveless
The friendless
The ghosts
Another day at school
It's where you want to sleep the most
Want to crawl away from all the crap
The world will hand to you
And slip into this coma
This lovely bolt from blue

It can be so hard when you feel like you haven't got a friend in the world. This poem is great in the way it expresses the loneliness. I love how it is written as if addressed to the 'others out there' who feel the same. it's as if you're not alone after all.

This brought tears to my eyes, Jesse...and left me feeling so very very tired. It's so true, though. You know it well..I hate that you know it so well...someday it'll be better, my dear, we just have to get there..

amazing work, jesse, as always. 5/5

I like how you have the repetitive bits at the top of each stanza, it gives it nice flow and makes it feel like youre talking straight to the reader and everything theyre pretending not to be.
