In A World Full of Ashes

by brie kelly wise   Oct 3, 2008

In a world full of ashes
We idle away the hours one minute at a time
Hope is the ghost of all my problems
Fear is the poison that left us in a sickly state
In a year full of vain death, we still don't take it as a sign
It's all a midnight choice on a dry cigarette
Promise me your vow is not as mind-bending as I take it
I promise we'll learn, if we ever make it past the hollowness
In a day full of haunting recollections,
We look around and realize it's all right beside us
In a world full of ashes, where will we ever walk
If we scatter them in the space we spare
Why wade around, when we could come up for air
Hope is the only ghost I'll never believe in
Fear is the only thing that murders our faith
