A Winter Day

by Deana   Oct 3, 2008

Snowflakes caressed the evergreen
Then playfully ran away
Left in place a gentle kiss
The day went soft and gray

Winters cold, felt fresh and new
Couldn't feel the chill
Snuggled by the fire
A heart peaceful and still

A snowman smiled and waved hello
To children everywhere
Though the day was bitter cold
Warmth was in the air

Marshmallows on an open fire
Skaters on the lake
Snowballs gathered for the fight
A perfect winter day
