Old to New

A hard knock attitude
A look that would kill
A cold black soul
To hurt you was at her will
Nobody around her
When she walked down the halls
At home it was a disaster
Holes in all thee walls
One day she cracked
The police were on their way
To take her to another place
And bring her back a different day
Burn marks on her arms
From a metal rod and fire
She cared about nothing
Pain was her new desire
She thought it was cool
She knew her parents would be hurt
But what was that to her
She treated them like dirt
One day it hit her
Through all the strife
She realized this wasn’t her
She didn’t want this life
She hated the way she was
It was all just an act
She lost all her friends
She broke every pact
For the first time in a while
She had begun to cry
She wanted to change
No more did she want to die
So change she did
And again she now loves
She was simply blessed
By an angle from above
So this is me now
Smiling everyday
Praying to God every night
To not let me go back to being that way
