Candle

by Natalie   Oct 5, 2008

I feel like a candle,
dull until ignited.

A strong and solid mold,
yet the exterior can melt away.

Plain, simple, and boring,
but with the potential to be extravagant.

I can be still, motionless, lifeless,
or sparked full of life.

Ignited, I may be unpredictable,
each time I cool I am not the same.

Either way I go,
I am transformed.

My favourite lines. An interesting notion. Could certainly play around with that.

I interpret it as whatever life throws upon you will change you, for we are forever changing, like the river of life, always moving.

Or perhaps, a special someone will come and ignite your candle? Who knows =).
