Because She is Me

~ Because She is Me ~
By Nicole Pirri

The sun shines brightly in her eyes:
And the beauty eventually lies.
Masked by a pathetic charade,
Her choice has not yet been made.

'Left', she says, 'or maybe right?'
Debating which direction to take flight.
Her wings, they span miles apart;
Soaring through the air, gaining a head-start.

Behind her; approach he does,
Snatching her tail feathers in a fuzz.
Escape? Get away? She can not be free.
How I know this? Because she is me.

    It was a beautiful poem. I wished you made it longer though. What I like in this poem was... You can clearly read it from start to finish. The rhyming on the poem was very good, it really enhance the flow of the poem.

    The sun shines brightly in her eyes:
    - I rarely see people use. ':' For me indifference = Good.

    Her wings, they span miles apart;
    Soaring through the air, gaining a head-start.
    - Excellent imagery you got here. I pictured a flying girl in my mind.

    Keep up the good work.
