Lights (Dimmed Down)

by Megan Sue   Oct 6, 2008

I found a light,
and looked for dark.
And looked for a soul,
to start a spark.

An eternal flame,
that burns so bright,
But still that darkness,
gives me delight.

A hand to hold,
connected to a body that looks so fine,
but why look at his disguise,
when you can find a light inside.

A wheel that turns,
and works overtime,
and a heart that pounds,
in beat with mine.

The light is on,
But no ones home.
You knock upon the door,
to find your still alone.

Why live a life,
with the lights dimmed down,
when you can sleep in the dark,
where silence is the only sound.

*This poem is truly talking about how everyone has a light inside. Some burn bright, and some are dimmed. And some people just find it better, to let their soul live on in the dark, in slumber.
