Teenage Love Story

by Beautiful Catastrophe   Oct 6, 2008

Another teenage love story,
It's already come to pass.

That sweet smile, and smooth way of talking.
Those charming acts of kindness, and the words I Love You.

Falling for it, my mistake.
Becoming addicted, that was mine too.

Fifteen months, such a short time.
To build then break everything we had.

Promises of forever,
And never will I hurt you.

Broken, Shattered, Frayed.
Over and Over.

Three chances,
A plea for you to change.

Not one single effort,
Until it was too late.

You sitting on your bed,
Begging for me to stay.

A compromise, just stay friends,
Maybe it'll work out, together again one day.

A bad move on my part.
Cause it only got worse.

Yelling, Screaming, Cursing, Hurting;
The fights, they never ended.

Long nights spent crying myself to sleep.
A pain that should have ended, over four months ago.

Now, forcing myself to give you up.
Like a coke addicted, weaning his way off his biggest necessity.

I shouldn't be that girl,
With crushed fantasies of happy ever after.

I know those stories don't really happen,
But you got to me, made me believe for that fragment of time.

And I never should have let you.

Very good. I loved it. Especially when it says "I shouldn't be that girl, with crushed fantasies of happy ever after" That's so me right now... 5/5
