The Sweetness of Time

by Lindsay   Oct 7, 2008

Give me sweet time,
or take it away,
life spinning on a single dime,
finding truth in it's gambling way.

Give me the day,
for me to enjoy,
so perfect that I may
forget my troubles - a child's broken toy.

Heed me my words,
sweet time is so fickle,
I know you have heard,
times dripping, gentle trickle.

So give us the day,
for us to cherish,
make it good that I may,
forget - we all perish.

And give me sweet time,
don't take it away,
I will take that dime,
and find my own truth - without it's gambling way.

I don't know why this is rated so low, I really enjoyed this.
Your vocabulary is great and the meaning is wonderful. The small bits of repetition you used were very effective and I just generally like everything about this poem. It's all original, especially the last line, I find.
    Great work, 5/5

This is a start. you seem to split up sentences just to make it fit a ryhme. maybe a little different wording would help. just think about it. other wise pretty good
