Illusions

by Ingrid   Oct 7, 2008

From deep down
the questions emerge
Surfacing, tempting
my irrational brain
Suffocating silence,
numbness beyond compare
On the vertex
Of my self- induced high
Dreams and reality
dance in a silent three step tango
Bile and honey
blend into an acceptable mixture
The treacherous illusion
of safety
takes control
As I take it all in
One big swig
And my personal sanctuary opens up
Heaven awaits those
who suffer in silence
