If You Only Knew

by Katie   Oct 7, 2008

If you only knew,
What my scars say,
Or what I have to do
To make them fade away.

The burns sink deep
Into my beautiful life.
They make me weep.
I always show my strife.

If you only knew,
How I feel about men-
What they put me through
Over and over again.

They bash my hope
And my every dream.
I could barely cope.
They make me scream.

If you only knew,
What my life was like-
Take a view,
You'll turn out the light.

Before you question,
Just look deep.
You'll be certain
I'm no creep.

So true your words. If people only knew the sadness that hides behind our smiles or the bumpy roads we have traveled to make us the person we are today.

    If you only knew,
    What my life was like-
    Take a view,
    You'll turn out the light.
