Wars

by JustKristina   Oct 7, 2008

She finally opens her eyes.
This is what reality has done.
She wants it all to end.
Yet, the war has just begun.

She is fighting a losing battle.
Wanting to end these wars.
Trying to remain strong.
Yet the rain still pours

How could she let this happen?
This isn't what she needs.
Wanting this to end
Yet, the war proceeds

Pressing forward with courage.
The enemy seeks to win.
Taking all the artillery.
She's ready to give in

The white flag in her hand.
She contemplates her choice.
Starting to raise her hand.
And beginning to clear her voice.

With the little that she has.
Not knowing if she can win.
She drops the flag in her hand.
Not quite ready to give in.

Finally realizing the disaster.
Seeing the damage has been done.
How much longer can this last?
This war...has just begun.

Wow, this was a great poem. Loved the flow and rhyming. Very sad but greatly written.

Okayy. I've said this before. But I'm reallyy not good at criticizing.

i really like the poem. and the thought/meaning behind it. the only thing that got me was the last 4 stanzas seem a little... odd. like, ready to give in. and then, she wasn't ready. maybe there could be another stanza or 2 before having her not ready to give up.

and then the last stanza seemed to be the total opposite of what the stanza before it was saying.

*sigh* i dont like saying negative things. =( cause i love you. but on a positive note. I really liked the meaning behind the poem. really really. and maybe i just wasn't reading it right. someone may read it and think its perfect. so what i said isnt personal. <3 you.
