A Deadly Disease.

by Courageous Dreamer   Oct 7, 2008

`This may sound like a speech, but I was trying to get
a message out, and I hope that after reading this poem
you all will realize what it is. Enjoy!

Such a disease enters the body looking to destroy.
It spreads quickly, sometimes it's difficult to locate early.
Affecting the body's entirety in a short period of time,
it's a terrifying battle that many people experience.

No cure, no possible solution to bring back those who
have been diagnosed with such a deadly disease,
leaves such sadness within me knowing that it can
happen to anyone, at any time, no matter who you are.

We see pink ribbons daily that hold a true meaning.
Those who have struggled for years with this disease,
you will see them wearing this with a smile on their face.
Their life may be coming to a end, yet they want your help.

Every life that has been taken away by this disease, cancer
will always be remembered and never forgotten for their fight.
Some pull through this life threating disease, while others-
just don't have the strength to make it, their time runs out.

*This poem is dedicated to all of those who struggle with cancer, any form of cancer.
It's a very deadly disease, that I hope a cure is found for some day
soon. Donate your money towards the research to prevent cancer.
You could make a difference in the world today.*

Very touching write you have penned here.

Though yes is is more of a speech the message it carries is woven with words of love and compassion. It is a beautiful dedication and whether it be in poetic form, speech form, letter form and form .... it is truly heart touching to read.

This was a lovely piece and i'm thankful you wrote it. My family suffers with breast cancer on my fathers side, so there could be a chance that I get it. Hopefully I don't but I'm still glad you wrote this as my nan had breast cancer. Thankfully she is still alive but she lost her sisters to it.

This poem was quite like a speech but it was beautiful as it showed the audience that cancer is out there and it can happen to anyone and that it does happen to very many people around the world. I liked how you seemed to of used factual information it really portrayed truth and reality and hit my heart like an arrow. So much emotion was within this poem.

I really did enjoy this piece and again thankyou for writing it. It means alot to many people in ways which you couldn't even imagine. This shows you have a lovely heart and would help the world if you could.

    Well done. -Mel

This disease takes peoples lives and that is a fact. Cancer is everywhere and if it isn't in your life it will certainly feature in your nightmares.

Well done on writing about Cancer, many others would shy away from such a subject. You have left out mrtaphorical language and rhyme and left this poem open for all to understand beyond all doubt.

    Take care

    Michael
