The Long Forgotten Doll

by Saara   Oct 8, 2008

There was a little girl
She lay crying on the ground
As she listened to the screaming
That echoed all around.

There was a little doll
That lay by her on the ground
It carried all her secrets,
Ones that slowly brought her down.

The little girl turned 13
That doll still her best friend
Watched her rock back and forth
Hoping the screaming would soon end.

As the girl reached 16
She knew that it was time
She picked up her old doll and ran
And ignored all the signs.

She did not get too far
Before she was picked up
She clutched to her dear old doll
As she was thrown into the truck.

She soon reached that familiar sound
As she was dragged into the house
The echo of the screaming
As she was thrown onto the ground.

She felt around in the dark
For her dear old doll
As she told it one last secret
Of what her life beholds.

She hugged the doll and thanked it
Laid it gently on the ground
Gave it one last look
And quickly turned around.

The doll held all her secrets
To the end so it would seem
As the final tears ran down her face
The girl would no longer be seen.

That doll now lays forgotten
Alone upon the ground
As it remembers that one last secret
“My fate I have now found”.
