Why did she go?

by Laurence Yuen   Oct 9, 2008

Sadness fills my heart as I watch waves splash to and fro,
wondering with tears in my eyes "Why did she go?"
I shed my tears without shame, wandering aimlessly along the shore,
wondering things I have never wondered before.
All in an hopeless effort, hopeless I say,
an effort to forget that unforgettable day...

As I walked along the shore, I had an urge to cry out to the heavens
weep on the ground, shouting "Why, why, why?"
I had done nothing wrong for her, not one bad deed,
whether big or small, or is it a sin to be shy?

Desolate, tired and miserable I was as I gazed
at the never ceasing waves' splashing parade.
I ponder, never stopping, and knew in my heart,
that my love for her would never fade.
