Wolf's Warning

by adroit   Oct 9, 2008

Frozen lights float in darkness
And wink with cold delight
Mountains high
Pierce the sky
As the wolf howls a warning to the night

Whispering souls flit through the trees
Laughing at your fear
Night it hides you
As death stands beside you
And the wolf cries for the night to hear

Day begins to break the black dome above
And its blood soaks in: every hue
The night, it dies
The raven, now it flies
It seems the wolf's omen came true

I must say that I'm very impressed by what you have done with this poem.

It was very well done and it's actually going on my favorite poem list. I was surprised by what I read, and not at all in a bad way.

This is truly an amazing piece.
