New Land

I'm told there's a new land
and to leave everything behind.
They tell me all joys will expand,
though I'm forced to travel blind.

Leaving what I've had so long,
it just doesn't add up right.
It hurts and feels so wrong,
but it's also hard to fight.

I run away, but each way I turn,
the new land is staring back.
It's becoming a large concern,
for I'm told my world is black.

My world is dead? Skies are gray?
This is surely news to me.
I never before have felt that way.
It's not something I see.

Yet so sure, so sure I'm told
to simply forget all my past.
But why should I forget the old,
when it felt so good at last?

It's hard to put down things from before
when they were never really bad.
Though I'm told I'll be gaining more,
it always leaves me getting sad.

I'm being shoved and pushed away,
from everything I ever knew.
My current world I wish to stay,
yet I get closer to you.

    I'd kinda like an explanation to this piece - I enjoy it but I got a few vibes from it - (1) moving on from a place or whatever that's not as good as you imagine it to be as a previous poster insinuated OR (2) I thought about Heaven and the Bible within Heaven - and last of all (3) about people always telling you to move on like after a bad relationship - because people think you should just quit when things go wrong instead of put the effort into making them work... and the end (yet I get closer to you) kinda made me think that you were becoming like everyone else... if (you) were the people you were talking about pushing and shoving ---- SEE HOW I FEEL!!!!! Please explain this :D I like it in general but curious and possibly slow ;)
