One Mistake

He broke my heart, he made me a promise
That one day noone and nothing will break us apart
He brought me food, he gave me hugs
He loved me dearly, I felt it in my gut

He was heart-broken, and he couldn't fly
His broken wings never has time to heal
I had to let him go, he needed to be alone
I was mending my own broken wings

I saw him the other day
I ran to him and he stood there in awe
He opened his arms wide
And I ran to him, to his arms opened wide

So much time that has passed
Not one day slipped by where I didn't think about him
But to see he's alive and well
My heart pounding to feel his touch again

Now he holds me tight, fighting back his tears
I was weeping, sobbing against his chest
We were young, we thought it was the right thing
But now we can't leave each other's arms
