Sauvignon and Shakespeare

by Soulful Ensemble   Oct 10, 2008

The peaches' pit bleeds in my mouth
As the dragonfly drowns in the pool.
I grab its' wing and pull him out
I toss him in the air and he flies south.

The Sauvignon wine melts my brain down
So what was underneath comes out.
I'm crazy and my mind is all hazy
I read Shakespeare without a sound
Ambition comes crumbling down.

A modern day Poe with the alcohol in hand
And thoughts of Lenore that turn to Leilah.
Hunger for my lost Leilah and the flower band
That plays songs that turn Eve to Eva.

Eva of the forest of the shrine of God
Where secret rituals by secret people are done.
I used to have a God to call God before
But now its something you never heard before.

The Sauvignon and Shakespeare fill my mind
O Juliet, where art thou Juliet
I don't have a higher than thou set of mind
But I've got violets in hand to bind.

O soft, what light through yonder window roars?
Like lions in the jungle, jealousy is torn.
I've defeated feelings of defeat and self murder
To thrive inside a mountain that is severed.

There's a sky of blue that you don't have to find
Just by looking up you'll see it was there all the time.
The Sauvignon and Shakespeare in my mind corrode
As I walk around and drift at into the lonely road.

The flat top hat tells me its confidential
That I wont get into your mind tonight.
I'll ask the right people something coincidental
To purposely remind them of you...
And then we will all feel alright.

Its not just about feelings its about being fine
And my Italian soul is mixed with a French heart
While the Spanish courage glows all the time
And the wingless doves now all seem so smart.
