Ill be right here

by Jaime   Oct 13, 2008

We were walking on the path of life,
until we came to a fork,
one a dark, ruined path,
another a bright, sunny road.
i looked at you, told you to come with me.

you being the adventurous one,
you took the dark one,
taking everything down with you.
your personality, your family,
your friends, your common sense.

but I'm waiting right here,
cause i know your coming back
Ive known you since primary,
i know you will realize it,
and find a shortcut back to me.

you were an angel to everybody
with such a beautiful smile.
and a contagious laugh,
your on your way to a ruined life.
don't go too far or you miss your chance

i know you wont though
thats why I'm waiting right here
I'm waiting for you to call out my name
and things will come back to normal.
because I'm your best friend.

This is a moving piece, clearly written with heartfelt sincerity and steering clear of cliches. That's great, but you've fallen into the "your you're" trap, and added to some other lazy grammar it comes across as quite juvenile for an otherwise mature write. I know people don't really care about writing properly any more, but if you can make the effort to be eloquent with your words you may as well with the grammar too. :-)
