Our Kingdom

by Katy Nicholson   Oct 15, 2008

Think of all these feelings.
Think of lies and truth.
How to deal with them.
To their full and proper use.

There is a certain time.
There is a certain place.
To share your emotions.
With your heart beat's pace.

Time heals all wounds.
Suddenly, it stops.
When your jaw clenches.
And your heart locks.

Things that don't seem real.
Things hidden away.
Take fantasy from reality.
Or is thinking in the way?

There are people you can tell.
Tell the story of your life.
Like you're the author of a book.
Displayed for this strife.

Then, what are friends for.
Even when they aren't there.
There's always someone who'll listen.
Don't have to give a lot, to care.

It takes one to know one.
I guess that much is true.
Childhood is what we are.
The kingdom of our youth.
