Juliet's Lament

Prologue:

When you wake up from your slumber,
And all you feel is pain,
Find a friend to help you,
And death will be your game.
For that's the fate of Juliet,
And her Romeo.
If Life couldn't provide each other,
Death's way they chose to go.

Juliet's Lament

Sleep.
She stopped breathing.
As if the need of air defined how painfully she needed him.
Her heart stopped beating.
As if the blood froze within her veins, his warmth, receding.
Time went into a rewind.
As if infinite thoughts of him could lead her forward.
Darkest midnight.
As if the only color she could see was in her unblinking eyes.
Life.
She woke to see, her love lying tenderly, on her knees.
Death's nectar unsullied on his lips.
Lips that once held the seductive promise of a kiss.
No more would he kindle a passion within her.
Pain.
Nothing to feel and to feel everything.
She was ripped away from the path of sanity.
A shattering epiphany resounding within,
This view before her, itself, was her sin.
The rose has finally unveiled its thorns.
Love is truly something to mourn.
Escape from veracity, the drug, her obsession, gone.
Desire for a second death, won't be long...
Friend.
Oh happy dagger, once my enemy, I will be thy sheath.
Save me, save me, save me.
For that this life should be at its end.
The next life I shall begin anew
Reunited with my love, with my sun,
With my Romeo adieu.
Death.
Peace nestles the two souls in her arms,
One step away from finally forever.
Embraced in Death's swift shroud,
Romeo and Juliet are finally together.
