Stars in the sky

The stars are shining
no clouds in the sky
laying in my backyard
saying good-bye

I see my friend
who I've known so long
wishing this wasn't the end
to our never ending song
tears run down our faces
each a memory of the good times
so apparent in are minds
of what use to be are lives
They will never be the same
never will we see each other
and as time goes on are memories will fade
even though you touched my heart
it won't ever feel the same again

Later that night
Under the starry sky
we find a new star
and wonder why
we decided it was ours
for us to share
so where ever we go we'll always be there

You may be gone
but im still there
just look up at the sky
and you'll see me there
i'll be twinkling in the night
shining so bright

So when you lonely
you'll know where to look
I never left
I've always been there.
