Blood Lust (part 2)

by meganmarie   Oct 20, 2008

No more heartbeats
no more breath
she opens her eyes
she's an outcast now

her skin now like diamonds
sparkling in the sun
she's a nice piece of art
one he'll never be able to resist

it was love
it was romance
it was blood lust at its finest

blood racing through her veins
temptation in his eyes
passionate kisses
strong embraces

temptation and lust
he'll never let her go

together they glisten
together feels safe
together they love
together they'll fall

they're blood thirsty angels
who've lost they're fragile wings
her temptation for blood
his tempting reasoning

his deep desire
her quiet passion
vampire blood lust
never felt the same

I find there are some "jerky" moments to the way this feels, sometimes sublime, other times words that are too time worn (i.e. diamonds, sun imagery) and causes the experiencer to be unable to stay in its flow of mood and content, however, the overall quality of this work is easily beyond a mere rating of "4"! Besides "ratings" are a tricky thing when it comes to "poetry". The creator of this sardonical witty poem has a true knack for making their work more like flesh and blood realism to the extent the receiver feels more like a "friend" listening than a voyuer reader dealing with a piece of dried "ink" on a page.
