Plastic Heart (Collab with End Of Eternity)

by Cindy   Oct 21, 2008

Venom spilling around the world
There's a crack in every heart
Earning bread and butter from war
Killing is the new generation's art

Planting bombs, unsuspecting crowds
Plastic hearts with ice filled veins
No longer think on their own
Taking lives now a deadly game

Black smoke, rubble, broken glass
Smell of burnt flesh fills the air
Stealing souls in their God's name
Screams of innocent, sirens blare

Religion has become an excuse
As they do what they are told
Innocent soldiers wasted for nothing
Everyday many true souls are sold

Breathing in this cold place of terror
Searching for love among our dead
Wondering if this is what we call life
Waiting for the next blood to be shed

Give those you love flowers while they live
For tomorrow may be snatched away
Don't wait for burials and funeral pyres
We are never promised another day

An excellent write. The verses blend well as it should be in a collab. The last verse is especially poignant and so very true. Good job to both of you. 5/5

You guys have gotten so good with these collabs that I can no longer tell your styles apart. A sad smack of reality this piece. Very well done.

Couldn't agree with you more on how religion plays such drastic role in demolishing everybit of what we all know has been blessed by the one supreme. At the end of the day, I strongly believe what goes around comes around. Lovely write you two.

Cindy & Nitin you pen such touching poetry together. One can not help but to wipe a tear after reading this poem.

It is though you have both wrote this piece through one set of eyes and a heart beating as one.

the opening stanza was incredible. the whole poem was perfect. even if its not a love poem, you and nitin pulled it off. which isn't a surprise. lol
