My lady fair

by BlueDreams   Oct 22, 2008

Know love! For love is what I bring,
A love that's hindered not by rules,
For those that hindered love do sing,
Will prove themselves as naught but fools.

Have faith! I am a simple man,
And though my words are naught but air,
Do know I'll always lend my hand,
To help my love, my lady fair.

Rejoice! For in this life you've found,
Another soul with which to bind,
Which you may use to troubles sound,
And clear the weight from off your mind.

I'm yours! As much as one man may,
Without the bonds of slavery wrought,
Be bound to one in every way,
I'm yours, my soul your words have bought.

Sleep well! And praise the coming dawn,
For though the stress of life may show,
In innocence, like new born fawn,
You will be pure as falling snow.

Then wake! And know that life is pure,
That not shall hardships on you land,
For love has found you well and sure,
If you but reach and take my hand.

What a tender piece you have penned.

Sleep well! And praise the coming dawn,
For though the stress of life may show,
In innocence, like new born fawn,
You will be pure as falling snow.

This stanza is so beautiful. The snow just adds such a perfect touch .

Then wake! And know that life is pure,
That not shall hardships on you land,
For love has found you well and sure,
If you but reach and take my hand.

What a beautiful poem of love. I hope your hands come together.
    Excellent job!

    Take care my friend :)

Oh, I absolutely love this poem. It conveys such a sincere, and giving heart. (: The way in which you placed your words really gave it an old timey romantic feel, and the cadence was practically flawless. I also liked how you started each stanza with an exclamatory statement, placing the emphasis with the most simple, but most important notions of the heart. Overall, this piece really made me smile, it is very sweet and passionate!
