She wakes up each morning and puts on a brave face,

Prepared for our blows of sadness, each and every case,

We don't realize the pain we cause her,

When we say we want to die, every threat we murmur,

We're selfish and unwise,

Everyday she lies,

She wants us to be happy,
Is that too much to ask?

Everyday she puts on the same mask,

I want to pretend for her, really I do,

But I need her now, where can I go?

Who else can I talk to?

***This is dedicated to my friend who is always there for me even when I know she doesn't want to be. She toughs it out and puts on a brave face...I wish I could do the same by letting her be.

Very sweet poem. i like the concept of how she's always going to be there. like when some ones friend does something embarrasing and they don't back out just to save their rep. and how they always are brave.
