Screaming Bullets (Inheritance Series Poem 1)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Oct 23, 2008

Idle tears
In her eyes
It's been three hours
Since she died

Screaming bullets
In the gun
You had your way
What's done was done

Finger on the trigger
Squeeze to a fist
No more hard liquor
No more slit wrists

I never want to see you again
Isn't that what you said?
Single metal bullet
Wedged inside her head

I'll tell you that she thought
About what she was about to do
But then the tears and the bullet came
The moment she thought of you

I don't mean to make you angry
Or for you to hate yourself
But her suicide letter did say (after all)
You'll be joining her in hell

So I'm waiting now
To write a poem about you
I mean after all
Look what you made her do

"You can take it all away and I'll miss
There's a little bit of you in all this
And you can say you only think you know, yeah
Please, there's a better bit of me to see yet
Cause you haven't seen any of my best
You know I hate myself without you now

Hurts the same when nobody knows
I guess that's just how it goes
And I won't say anything at all"
