Simple Straight (A Crooked Poem)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Oct 24, 2008

I blame my self
For the days you feel
Like you can't feel
Enough to blame

Yes, I know I lost my mind
I don't think I'll find it again
Like needle in a haystack
Underwater in outer space
Where the moon in the sky
Is the least brightest thing
The world spins before us
The stars in the sky
Are burning so bright
The reflection in your eyes
The pitch black perfect night
Where we don't feel like we're drowning
Cause somehow we can breath
Where the world spins before us
That's where we'll always be

I feel the happy poems slipping
As it slithers down the drain
Through the sewers and the sludge
Through the water and the rain
And my chest hurts something awful
Like each heartbeat is more than that
And it send pain throughout my veins
And you can see it in my eyes
And my smile is much dimmer
Because it's forced
Because it's forced
And I write poems off the first thing
That breaks through my constant thoughts
(Constantly) thinking about crying
But I don't think I have the strength
So I'll slip away with the happy poem
Down the drains to outer space

"And I hope to God I figure out what's wrong"
