The Lie, The Secret

by megan   Oct 24, 2008

When each day passes by,
I keep holding in a lie.

A lie that I can no longer hold,
but when I try to say it, I go cold.

When I'm cold, I want to be held in your arms,
I know that there would be no absolute harm.

When I tell you my secret, I'm afraid you'll back down,
And when you back down, I'll want to drown.

Because you are the only person who keeps me alive, and without you, I would not survive.

When the day finally comes around,
I'll tell you the secret I've been hiding in the ground.
